Bioinformatics QA Technician
Location: Sugar Land, Texas
Position type: Full-time
Eureka Genomics® Corporation is a rapidly expanding biotechnology company that is focused on providing the very best in Next Generation Sequencing (high throughput sequencing) and advanced post-sequencing analysis of sequence data. Due to rapid expansion of bioinformatics and genotyping services provided by Eureka Genomics, the Sugar Land, Texas based Bioinformatics department is seeking to fill 1 full-time position for a Bioinformatics QA Technician. This highly motivated individual will assist with coding and quality assurance testing of the various proprietary data analysis software packages currently under development at EG.
The position requires the ability to work in Unix environments and demonstrable proficiency with coding languages, such as C and C++, as well as scripting languages, such as C-Shell, Perl, or Python. The person hired understands the demands of completing projects on time and will work with other members of our research and service provider teams.
Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in C++, Perl and Python
  • Working knowledge of object oriented programming, including templating, inheritance, and dynamic memory management
  • Working knowledge of basic data structures (trees, hashes, arrays, etc)
  • Ability to create multiple scenario test cases
  • Multi-tasking capabilities (run testing for multiple projects, as and when required)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organization and documentation skills
  • One year or more of experience in utility programming (Perl, Python, C Shell,). School experience is OK.

Desired Qualifications

  • Applied mathematics or Statistics background
  • Experience in Genomics and Bioinformatics, including common tools such as BLAST
  • Proficiency with excel formulae and plotting features
  • Experience with Linux environment and ability to use bash tools like sed, awk, grep, cut, etc

Web Developer
Location: Sugar Land, Texas
Position type: Full-time
Eureka Genomics® Corporation is a rapidly expanding biotechnology company that is focused on providing the very best in Next Generation Sequencing (high throughput sequencing) and advanced post-sequencing analysis of sequence data. Due to rapid expansion of bioinformatics and genotyping services provided by Eureka Genomics, the Sugar Land, Texas based Bioinformatics department is seeking to fill 1 full-time position for a Web Developer. This highly motivated individual will work within the existing team to assist with the GUI development and database integration of the various proprietary data analysis software packages currently under development at EG.
The position requires the ability to work in Unix environments and demonstrable proficiency with hand-coded web front/backend development using LAMP stack, SQL backed web applications (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and programming languages, such as Javascript, jQuery, AJAX and CSS. The person hired understands the demands of completing projects on time and will work with other members of our research and service provider teams.
Required Qualifications

  • Experience in hand-coded Web front/backend development using LAMP stack.
  • Experience in developing SQL backed web applications (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
  • Experience in Javascript, jQuery, AJAX and CSS.
  • Experience with Object-oriented PHP development.
  • Experience with developing C/C++ backend applications.
  • Proficiency in Linux.
  • Multi-tasking capabilities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organization and documentation skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Amazon cloud infrastructure (S3, EC2).
  • Experience with developing REST enabled backend service.
  • Proficiency in Git
